Dear Zapper jee,

Yes, your points stand for validity. But, we have a very long tunnel to cross before we can see the light of the day. At the moment, we do not have a flicker of hope, for sure ; be that on account of caring for old aged or showing door to the corrupt people.

Its a shame on our Govt part. In our country even we dont care to have old homes/houses.May be we SHOULD HAVE senior citizen welfare association and the representative should present the requirements to the Prime Minister & Finance Minister. I don`t know how to bring a revolution in our country. I think we are in desperate need of Mahatma G. We should finish corruption by any means. Wish some day we can provide enough to our loving and caring senior citizens. Wishes zapper...

Because of no unity among the retired private/public undertaking employees, there is no hearing of our difficulties by Government. They are increasing their salary , pension & other benefits. Labour minister, even won\\\\`t care for issuing order for minimum pension of Rs.1000/-. Is it possible to lead a life in these hard days with Rs.1000/- . Can any one disagree with my opinion... Dear Tilakjee,

1. Thank you very much for our small interactions on this forum.
2. What surprises me the most is that our Senior Citizens are generally disgruntled with the current state of affairs, particularly in economic terms. The common thread seems to be `we worked hard and paid taxes for the past four decades, and we have no economic support/understanding from the GoI, and our siblings whom we painstakingly raised` - I can understand this sentiment well.

Cheers !...

Our country is one of the worst when it comes to senior citizen`s - they should be exempt from tax after the age of 75-80 if they come in the lower income brackets, Also is support a better pension system for members of the Armed forces / Navy / Airforce who have served the nation with dedication. Someone should take care of the old given that joint family system is breaking down in India....
