CURB BLACK MONEY.HEAVILY TAX THE VACANT PLOTS.ENCOURAGE MANUFACTURING.GIVE INCENTIVES TO EXPORTS.INCREASE EXCISE DUTY ON CARS SOLD WITH IN THE COUNTRY.ENCOURAGE PUBLIC TRANSPORT.MAKE CAR LOANS COSTLY.IMPORT CRUDE.ADD VALUE&THEN EXPORT.WITHOUT HARMING THE INTREST OF THE FARMERS,MAKE AVAILABLE CHEAP LAND TO THE BUDDING MANUFACTURERS.DISCOURAGE LOBBYING.EXPORT MINERALS AFTER VALUE ADDITION.DO NOT ALLOW PEOPLE TO SPECULATE ON LAND.SEIZE ALL SUCH VACANT PLOTS&LANDS SO TO BE DISTRIBUTED TO THE HOMELESS.GRANT HOUSING LOANS TO SUCH PEOPLE.THE RUPEE WILL CERTAINLY COMPETE WITH THE DOLLAR....
Nothing happens if some difficult financial situation arises it is always a precedent on the part of GOI to issue austerity instructions to all and sundry and nobody bothers about it and always finds way to jump over it it....
Security of VIPs,abolition of governor1s post,cutting allowances of MPs etc are the measures government can take.

austerity is not harmful especially in current situation...
India can never change for the next 40 years the rupee may touch even 100 in 10-15 yrs time because in last 60 yrs it has gone up from 1 to 54 so no wonder things are never goiing to change here with this skewd democracy.Who is to blame our forefathers who opted for this democracy or should we say democrazy.the whole worl is in financial mess but india is in a bigger mess made due to its poor governance over the years.god save India.......

These so called austerity measures should cover the Indian States scams particularly the Karnataka Land Grabbing Scam / Adarsh Multi-Storey Building Illegal Scam, Mining Scam with all scams need to be arrested now. Once these scam taints are arrested there would be enough exchequer with the Government to deal with the situation. ...
